Hartshorne Island (Hartshorne Island)
Hartshorne Island (-64.78333°N, -64.38333°W) is an island between Dakers Island and Howard Island in the eastern Joubin Islands, Antarctica. It was named by the Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names for Sidney G. Hartshorne, Master of RV Hero on her first Antarctic voyage to Palmer Station in 1968.

Antarctica is Earth's southernmost and least-populated continent. Situated almost entirely south of the Antarctic Circle and surrounded by the Southern Ocean (also known as the Antarctic Ocean), it contains the geographic South Pole. Native species of animals include mites, nematodes, penguins, seals and tardigrades. Where vegetation occurs, it is mostly in the form of lichen or moss.
