Leskov Island (Leskov Island)
Leskov Island is an ice-covered island in the West Ice Shelf of Antarctica, rising to 185 m, 6 nmi northwest of Mikhaylov Island. It was discovered by the First Russian Antarctic Expedition of 1819–21, and named after Lieutenant Leskov, one of the members of that expedition.

Antarctica is Earth's southernmost and least-populated continent. Situated almost entirely south of the Antarctic Circle and surrounded by the Southern Ocean (also known as the Antarctic Ocean), it contains the geographic South Pole. Native species of animals include mites, nematodes, penguins, seals and tardigrades. Where vegetation occurs, it is mostly in the form of lichen or moss.
